Austin had been working with me in the lab for almost one month before he went to UC in July, 2010. No doubt he showed many qualities of a good scientist: smartness, being logical and thoughtful, and self-motivate. More impressive to me was that always smiled and delighted. He was one of the most modest and gentle teenager I have ever seen. Even he bowed slightly to show his respect and attention when we started a conversation. He always got my thoughts right away, and did the work beautifully. I feel so regret I did not take a picture of him when he was working in the lab. But I would never forget his smile.
