Remembering Austin – Losing a Son, Redefining a Family
NASW-NM 2015 Conference

Conference Resources

Gregg LaPore and Laurie Hudson are former clients of Emerson Susan Corley and welcome the opportunity to share their experiences directly with this audience. Part of our healing is to find avenues to bring forth meaning from Austin's death and honor his memory. With this presentation, we hope to shed light on aspects of parental bereavement that may differ from other types of grief. Since the loss of our son, we have met many parents still struggling after many years. We hope that this presentation describing a dual therapeutic model may ultimately benefit other grieving parents.

Core Synchronism was developed by Robert Stevens, ND,  here in Albuquerque.  It is a system of hand medicine designed to assist nature in establishing harmony with all parts of the organism. It is not pathology specific. It is a mechanical system designed to restore balance, which results in activating an individual’s self-healing ability.  Core Synchronism is taught in 7 levels over a period of two months each fall.  For more information about each level or to find a practitioner, go to coresynchronism.org

The book Julie mentioned in her presentation is Healing the Pain of Heartache by Erv Hinds, MD
