The hike from Taos Ski Valley to Williams Lake was Austin's favorite hike in New Mexico. It was the last one he wanted to do before heading off for college back in summer of 2012.
So, we came back today and hiked it. Still snow on the trail and clouds moving in but it ended up being a nice hike. Warm and sunny.
We sat up on a rock outcropping looking over the lake and laughing and crying over Austin's stories and how much we continue to miss him.
We renewed his picture up on the rim so that at least a photo of him is always present at the lake.
We drank some toasts of wine and poured the last bit on the ground for him in the Spanish style before heading back down.
