One main inspiration/observation has stuck with the period of the search and now in this time of memorial. During one of their most unimaginable times of sadness, Austin’s family showed, and continues to show, an overwhelming sense of genuine concern for how Austin’s friends and extended are holding up far in front of their own needs for support. In my travels and experience I have never seen a family filled with such kindness, concern for others, so bonded to each other filled with genuine interest in and citizenship world around them. This is the kind of family the Hudson-LaPore’s are. This is the kind of man Austin was. This is how I remember him.
