When Austin was a young boy, it was easy for him to slip quietly to the back of the room and devour a large book rather than compete with the din of his more raucous cousins (you know who you are!) However, the first time I saw him after his matriculation to UofC, he confidently strode across the room, took my hand in a strong grip and eagerly informed me all about his life. With a firmness in his voice and a twinkle in his eye, I realized just how much he blossomed into a fine young man and was surely on his way to setting the world on the fire. The world was certainly going to be a better place with Austin in it and I was eager to see what were guaranteed to be nothing short of very grand accomplishments. I say this despite the fact that he would not partake of the lutefisk I shared with his family one Christmas. Perhaps he was the smartest person in the room........
With love - Uncle Kevin
