While I never said too much to Austin during my time at the Academy, I will always remember him as the kid with the rolling backpack, with big blue eyes hidden behind even bigger glasses, and his smile. I often had the same passing periods between classes as Austin, and our first encounter was on The Path. Everyone always walks pretty slow on the path, not too concerned with the ever dwindling seven minutes we had to get to class. Then there was Austin. At the time, I don't think he was even 5 feet tall yet. And here he was, pulling this rolling backpack and carrying a large textbook in his hand, running up the pathway. His backpack looked so full of hugh textbooks, that I immediately guessed he was a genius, and I was right. Later on in my time at Academy, Austin and I had Orchestra together, and I remember the trip we took my senior year. All of us on our way to Texas, squashed in a bus, but it was the first time I actually got to talk to Austin and I will never forget his humbleness, his impeccable comedic timing, and of course, his smile.
