DeDee and I would meet the Lapore family once a year when they camped/vacationed on one of the various islands at Lake George in New York State . It was during these periods that we came to know Austin. As he matured we were impressed with his enthusiasm for all things fun and scientific. His knowledge of, and acuity about even the most arcane topics never failed to amuse and enlighten us. He will be genuinely missed by us and we would add, society in general. His inherent ability had yet to really blossom and his untimely death is of profound distress to us as it is to all who knew him. We grieve with the family.
